1980. Govind Nihalani's award-winning debut film based on a page 7 news item of a real-life incident where a tribal is being tried for the murder of his wife when he actually is the victim - she was raped by the foreman and has committed suicide. Om Puri as the tribal does not utter a word through the film (except for a couple) and says it all with his eyes. Stunning performance. You cannot forget those eyes - ever.
