1976. Bengali. Satyajit Ray. Jana Aranya is based on a novel by Mani Sankar Mukherjee. It starts with a lawless college examination, followed by the search for employment by the hero Somnath. He is advised by a friend to get into business and for a while, it almost appears as if Ray was giving a step by step guide to unemployed youth to get going in business and not wait for jobs.
