Anjali - Let Us Go Only If It's Important

I have this crazy desire to get out of home by the time it's 4 in the evening. I don't know why but I just can;t sit at home. Now ever since her vacation has begun Anjali has been noticing this penchant of mine to go out. I ask her everyday 'Shall we go out?' in the hope of enticing her.
'No,' she says. 'I want to be at home only'.

I asked her again today, if she wanted to go anywhere.
'No,' she said. 'Let us be at home only.'
I decided to toe along and not force the issue as I normally do.
'No problem,' I said. 'There is no need to go anywhere. We'll stay home.'

'Yes,' she said finally with an Oh-you-finally-got-it kind of a look.'There is no need to go anywhere. Let us go only if it's really important.'

Wish I had that sense many years ago.

It's as simple as that. If there is nothing important out there why was I running around like a headless chicken. I could have saved myself much time and energy and money. Never too late I guess.

Is it the school or native wisdom?

Native wisdom I suppose. Maybe the school as well. But I guess all kids say this type of stuff because they seem to see things in an uncluttered manner. It's as we grow older that we need the self-help books.
