It was wonderful to see Sonali in this role of the village headman's wife, the ease with which she shifted from a 'Dil Chahta Hai' kind of role to this. I was fortunate to have met her in 2017 when she so gracefully consented to be the Chief Guest for the Mumbai launch of 'This Way is Easier Dad'. As a person I found her to be very open, grounded, with a perpetual wonder and zest for life. Very impressed. She was brilliant in her role - especially the way she keeps playing with bhau by making up new games for him at home, or the way she dumps him when he returns after winning n election to head of where the action is in the village.
A sleepy town wakes up to the news that the village simpleton has dreamt of Lord Datta. Soon enough the villagers build a temple and prosper in various ways, not all of them ethical. Recommended.
