Morning Tea at Charminar with Sunnie

Sunnie and I decided to go to Charminar to have some morning tea at Nimrah and maybe nibble at some biscuits. We took off at 630 in the morning and thanks to Google Maps which is getting to be more and more unreliable we went all around and ended up at the backside of Charminar. Anyway, we got off and headed to Nimrah.

Me, Charminar, Sunnie, chai and tie biscuits

Along the way we saw many refugee like people on the road - they certainly looked like they were from Kashmir or rather Afghanistan even. Mostly old men, some women. Maybe they came for treatment or whatever. But they were living on the roadside.

Nimrah was bustling even at that early hour. There was a heavenly smell of the bakery items and we were pretty happy to order some tea and eat some tie biscuits. A chap from Mumbai who is on a business visit asked us what was special here and we suggested Osmania biscuits. I took a walk around Charminar and found this Iqbal restaurant next to Nimrah - not a soul there. Funny.

Anyway, the most interesting part of the trip was that all around Charminar we saw atleast 6-7 couples shooting for their pre-wedding photo shoot. There is a director, a cameraman and another fellow and they are directing the couple to do various things. Walk this way, walk and turn, throw the bird feed at the pigeons, you lead and he follows - its completely crazy. These guys have gone nuts I feel. Anyway its an experience I am sure they will enjoy. The photo shoot team was most interesting as they used anything and everything as a prop - a guy selling cheap goggles was a prop too.

Can spot a couple of photo shoots in the background

There was this little excursion from a school and I asked the kids where they were from and one kid said Yavatmal - near Nagpur. They were here for five days. I asked them what they had sen so far and he said Snow World. I am glad they have now hit Charminar.

Sunnie had another chai. Then we headed out and made it to Kamat near Birla Mandir and had dosa and coffee. Morning well spent.
