1988. Hindi.
Its an NFDC production from the 80s so it has its own charm and values. Two friends, Pestonjee and Pirj Shah, Parsis, think of getting married. Pestonjee ends up marrying Jeroo, a grl Piroj liked but who in his usual fashion, does not make a decision soon enough, and she marries Pesi. How Piroj sees them and their problems, and realises that there is more to life than judgment and right and wrong is the story. The last line says it all - life is to be happy.
I loved it. Shade of Wooster, Jeeves and Ukridge. Naseeruddin Shah as, Piroj, the judgmental friend who is in love with Jeroo (Shabana), Peston (Anupam) and his affair with Soony (Kiran Kher). Brilliant performances, great screenplay, great stuff.
