Anjali - A 2 hour Trek Up in the Hillock

I do enjoy the walk up the hillock near the Mahatma Society, something that I normally do with Milind and Satish when they are in town. There is a small climb and we hit a flatland with some quarried stuff that filled up with water, a large flat area that kids use to play cricket, paths, a few trees, grassy land, and then paths that lead down to the road again.

As we climb up to the flat part

The whole thing takes some hour and a half and I thought Anjali might enjoy it so I asked her if she would like to go. She was game and off we went early this morning at 730 when it was still very pleasant.

The quarried part

Cricket - I love this form best

So we started off and spoke about this and that and I enjoy these talks we have. Up on the hillock we were surprised to see a lot of people, some playing cricket, some jogging, some walking, some doing exercises, some doing yoga, people of all ages, genders, sizes, some with dogs. We came upon the quarry which had some water and we saw some people standing out there at the bottom. Then we stopped and watched cricket for a while and then walked all the way to the end where we could see the highway.

Pune skyline behind

We could see the skyline of Pune, enjoyed the balmy morning air and the walk, the talk. On the way back we saw the market near Smritivan and Anjali wanted to stop near the salad shop. We checked it out and decided to come back later.

Dosa and idli at Pruthvi, well earned!

After a 2 hour walk, we decided to treat ourselves with some nice breakfast at Pruthvi where we ate some idli, vada, dosa and headed home. A Sunday morning well spent.
