What started a couple of months ago when I first let Anjali lead me across the road while crossing the road at SR Nagar, grew rapidly. Always keen to expand her boundaries she then took the next step - did a solo shopping trip in Himalaya Book Store while I waited outside.
That done, she took a Metro ride by herself - being her first we dropped her at the station and picked her up at my sister's station. This was quickly followed by a solo trip all by herself - from our home to sister's place in the Metro. And then, she wanted to take the Metro to Errammanzil and buy herself a fanny pack - and she did it quite well - having a ride on the skate board at Decathlon and drinking some fruit juice while at it.
I like the way she is going at it and I know this is the only way for her to learn to be independent. She is careful and aware and being on her own will make her that much more aware.
