Road Trip to Bangalore

Shikha's wedding had been planned for a year now and we were definitely not going to miss it. Raju and Gowri were driving down and asked if we wanted to join. Raju has a Tata Harrier which was quite comfortable and we hopped on to it. Lovely drive, nice conversations, music.

We were put up at a hotel on the outskirts of Bangalore - Clarion. There was the Attur lake right in front and a walkway around it which I used to walk one morning. There were a bunch of young girls staying at the hotel and I thought they were part of some team - turned out they were cabin crew trainees for Air India Express.

The wedding was a nice, warm affair with a limited number of guests and very well thought out and planned events and stuff.

The drive back was comfortable. Found this wonderful place called Bay something which was a food court with all the major brands - KFC, Leon, Starbucks and so on.

Friend of mine was discussing that the drive to Bangalore was no more 6-7 hours as it was before and it was actually more like 9-10 hours. It was surprising because the road was a breeze for many years. But it turns out that 9-10 is right - the traffic does seem to have increased, there are more speed breakers and a lot more activity in areas which were previously rather barren - the Anantapur - Bangalore stretch for example. Maybe it was because of the KIA factory or whatever.

Raju suggested we stop at the Korean restaurant near Anantapur - it was pretty cute. We tried some Korean dishes - I liked the chicken fried rice best. Raju bought some drink called Sauja or something.
