A senior barrister recovering from a heart attack takes a case of a man who appears to have murdered his rich lady friend. But the defendant's wife who is the main alibi for him, turns against him, leading to some very interesting twists in the end.
Sir Charles Laughton as barrister Sir Wilfred Robarts steals the show - he just pulls off the movie all by himself. Such delightful characters, such delightful dialogue. Superb.
