Hyderabad by Walk - Shah Raju Qattal Dargah

I first read about Shah Raju Qattal in Narendra Luther's book 'The Legendotes of Hyderabad in which he describes how the Sufi saint was followed by the sixth Sultan Abdullah Qutb Shah and it was upon the advise of Shah Raju Qattal, that the Sultan decided to marry his daughter to Abul Hasan Tana Shah, thereby making him the seventh and the last Sultan of the Qutb Shah dynasty.

Shah Raju Qatttal Hussain Dargah, Misrigunj

Syed Shah Raju Qattal, was born in Bijapur and gained spiritual enlightenment earning himself the title Qattal (vanquisher). He was also the spiritual guide of Abul Hasan Qutb Shah and he passed away during his reign. His tomb was being constructed when Golconda was captured. It is an impressive 3 storeyed structure, much bigger than you expect with large grounds around it in the Misrigunj area. It is located just outside what was the Fateh Darwaza (now no more).

I enjoyed driving right through the Fateh Darwaza side and going through the narrow lanes until we hit the Dargah. It is quite large and many people of all faiths apparently come there. I did not have the time to go in so returned from the outside.

Some other time.
