'Half Love Half Arranged' is about a young lady Rhea (30) who is unmarried. Her best friend Tisha is married though despite not being a looker or anything. Rhea has two younger sisters Pia and Sia - the former married and the latter a lesbian which she brings out of the closet at an opportune time.
Rhea works in an IT company, has a BFF chap called Arf, a couple more girl friends, and a roving eye for eligible males. Throughout the book her quest is to marry - be it through her own efforts or those of the aunty who fixes marriages. First encounter is with Vyash I think, a married and on verge of divorce friend of her younger sister I think. They profess love for each other have sex and then he trails off into the background. Then comes a super-sexy dude called jay who is Sia's girl friend's brother with kleptomanical tendencies. Again after some good sex he is found out and send packing.Marriage bureau aunty finds hot and possessive Mazher who is most good looking but slow on the romance and sex business so he gets nowhere and gets dumped. Enter arranged boy Sid from America who is kind of sweet but not before the twist in the tale which is about BFF also getting a hint of love and sex before he decides he is not good enough for her.
The half love and half arranged bit comes as a twist. Guess who is the lucky guy? Vyash comes back as an added element.
Itisha has a nice, fun style of writing and is one of the few Indian writers who I feel can write the sex scenes confidently. The characters are goofy and interesting, generally partying, getting drunk, getting laid and stuff like that which I know little about. I think this has been made into a web series because I found a series by the same title. Going by the looks of it Itisha has more coming up.
I am having fun reading books off Anjali's shelf. This was the fourth in recent times.
