A fictional story based on poet Malik Muhammad Jayasi's poem 'Padmaavat' it shows how Allauddin Khilji was besotted by the beautiful Rani Padmavathi of Mewar and wages war to possess her. However she commits Sati by jumping into a burning pyre with the other women in the fort before he can capture her.
