We needed to check this item off so we went to Kankaria lake which was not too far from the mosque. Its a well maintained lake with an entry fee, a walkway that goes all around it, food courts for much of the route around, boating facilities which were not being operated for some reason.
Kankaria lake |
I Love Kankaria |
There is an island like thing in the middle where I could see a structure but had no clue what it was. Once could easily walk around the lake which would be some 4 kms I would think. We walked a bit and returned.
On the way back we decided to do a Gujrathi thali and went to Gopi Dining Hall. It was a lovely meal for 310 bucks (minus sweets which we decided not to partake).
Waiters clad in traditional attire serve you with great familiarity in a big thali - five curries, rotis, a nice kachori with some curd inside, puris, rice, buttermilk - all as much as you want. Obviously we could not eat too much and enjoyed a delicious, vegetarian meal.
The radio - another world |
Outside we found an old radio which was playing.
