The distance from the Hotel to the ground was a mere 2-3 kms so we had trouble getting cabs. But if we stepped out and looked we would find autos which would always quote a round figure of 100 bucks (only on the last day we got a novice who charged us 50 bucks).
Dawn from the hotel |
Breakfast was at the hotel which would range from fruit juices to omlettes to sausages and stuff like that - rather irresistible. Lunch was normally at the ground at 12 noon - a bit too early for us so we would walk around the stadium to get some exercise and also to build up some appetite and also to pass time. The stadium is surrounded by sporting arenas of various kinds - badminton stadium, cycling velodrome, football, cricket nets, another cricket ground, archery and so many more. Its quite a pleasant walk.
Can see the stadium lights in the background |
If we slip out through that gate we find Sodhani Sweets which has some brilliant samosas, kachoris and lassi. We made it there a couple of days.
Indulgence - green tea and a book |
Though our favorite haunt in Jaipur, The India Coffee House, was close by we never went there. Some psychological thing about distance perhaps.
Croissant and a cheese omelette |
The airport |
On the return journey we had time to kill so we indulged in a beer. Bumped into Anil at the airport.
