Anjali - When We Play Freely We Have Longer Rallies

And another one from the badminton game. Since we were looking at how long our rallies were and congratulating one another on long rallies she made an observation.

'When we think we should play long rallies, we are not able to do them. But when we play freely we are getting longer rallies,' she said.

Good observation again. As long as you pressure yourself you may not perform at your best. The moment the rally starts it is best to put all focus on hitting the shuttle and not worry about the rally. Only when we play freely in a relaxed manner with all our concentration on hitting the shuttle are we likely to have longer rallies.

Not when we are all tensed up inside and stiff.

Life is like that too. No point getting all stiff and tensed when things are not going your way. Relax and enjoy yourself, smile and be free. It does not mean be casual. It means be relaxed and put all your focus on doing it right. Not put all your focus on making a big drama out of it.

The chances that you'll do better are only when you relax and are living life freely.
