The Pune Diaries - The Karve Nagar Hill Walk

Went for a walk in the morning with Satish at the hills behind Mahatma Society. It requires us to walk up a bit and it plateaus into flat land on top. Big ass flat enough for three full sized cricket grounds.
On top of the hill (which we made after some stops wondering what happened to our stamina of twenty years ago) we first saw a little depression or excavated site which was filled with water, and saw a few lotuses.
And we walked around, found another little man made lake where we saw this one person sitting in the middle probably meditating.

And then we walked past this shed with buffaloes where a family was selling milk. This looks new because no one lived in the hill before. Lots of people appeared to be buying milk from him.
And then these cricket matches. Full sized grounds, nicely made wickets for tennis ball matches, full sized teams. Two such matches. Lovely. We saw one fielder take a smart catch in the outfield.
Further up and our plan was to hit the end near the highway when we got a call from Pooja who wanted to go for chai at Irani cafe. So we turned back. Still it was a 4 mile walk.

Met Pooja at Irani cafe, ate bun maska omelette, had chai and she told us that the hills in Pune were now infested with leopards. Luckily we didn't meet any and it ended well.

Nice morning walk.
